Laboratory for Analysis of Dynamics... (LADICom)

Headed by Dr. MC Zountchégbé Yves MAGNON , the Laboratory for the Analysis of Development Dynamics, Agricultural Innovation, and Rural Communication (LADICom) has set specific objectives that strengthen its capabilities and distinguish it from the rest. These objectives are outlined below:

Objectives

  • LADICom’s primary mission is to generate socio-anthropological and socio-economic knowledge on the dynamics of agricultural and rural development, as well as on innovation, communication, agricultural extension, and advisory processes. It also aims to facilitate the use of this knowledge to sustainably improve the living conditions of agricultural and rural populations.
  • The Laboratory contributes to the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of scientific and sustainable development policies of the Doctoral School of Agronomic and Water Sciences (EDSAE), the School of Economics, Socio-Anthropology, and Communication for Rural Development (EESAC), the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences (FSA), and the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC). Additionally, it defines its own strategies, objectives, and scientific programs.

Research Units

LADICom is composed of two (02) sections known as “Research Units (RUs)”:

  • Research Unit for Socio-Anthropological Analysis of Agricultural and Rural Development Dynamics (UADYD).
  • Research Unit for Innovation, Agricultural and Rural Extension, and Advisory Services (InnoVCAR).

The Research Areas

To fulfill its mission, the LADICom inves1t in the following research areas:

    a) Iden1fica1on and systemic analysis of socio-anthropological factors, political, communicative and socioeconomic factors that promote and/or hinder the performance of agricultural and rural development services, as well as those of units of produc1on, of storage-conserva1on, of transform1on, and of commercialisa1on of agro-sylvo-pastoral and fish products;
    b) The proposal of solutions against socio-political and economic factors and communicative factors that hinder the performance of development services agricultural and rural, as well as those of other stakeholders in the processes of agricultural and rural development;
    c) The facilitator of the implementation of the proposed solutions against the eco-economic and communication socio-poli factors that hinder the performance of agricultural and rural development services, as well as those of other stakeholders in agricultural and rural development processes;
    d) The participation in the monitoring-evaluation and continuous documentation of processes and agricultural and rural development performance;
    e) Participation in the continuous and sustainable improvement of policies, strategies and agricultural and rural development practices; and then,
    f) The identification and analysis of socio-anthropological aspects, political, communicational and socioeconomic practices of resource management agricultural and natural as well as the proposal of relevant consequent solutions.
